MEET ASHTON
Ashton is the youngest teacher at Mike Dale Drum Studios. Ashton has been obsessed with music since he was a little kid. He started piano lessons alongside guitar early in his life, but he found his passion for drums in his teenage years. Beginning his teaching career in 2017, he has created quite a reputation. Band and percussion instructors out of South Jordan often send their students for lessons from Ashton.
Ashton has been offered musical talent and academic scholarships from all over the state. He is currently attending Utah Valley University as a Commercial Music Major with an emphasis in Percussion, where he accepted a full-ride scholarship to participate in various ensembles. Some of his musical achievements include:
- PAS of Utah – First Place in Drum Set Category
- First Call Session Drummer for Audio House Productions
- Jazz fusion arranger, composer, and bandleader
- Working DJ since 2016
- Center Snare for Bingham High School Drumline
- Self Created Record Label and Solo Artist
Ashton was diagnosed with an essential tremor, which has made performing music more challenging. He’s decided this won’t let that stop him from doing what he loves. Ashton is not only a great instructor but an excellent role model for each student.
Ashton eats, sleeps, and breathes music. When he’s not practicing, he’s often writing, producing, and arranging songs. Ashton enjoys walking his dog, longboarding, the beach, and Chick-fil-a. He plans on serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in early to mid-2022.
