October 2017 Congratulations Cassidy!

Cassidy A. is October's Student Of The Month!

Cassidy decided at a very young age that she wanted to be a drummer. After attending a rock concert, she knew then, that she wanted to participate in music! Cassidy recalls the green flashing lights, guitars strumming and the drums pounding that resonated throughout! This experience brought her great joy. She aims to relive that experience as much as possible. Cassidy has only been playing the drum set for just little over a year now, and in that time, she has grown very quickly on the instrument. Cassidy is almost a purple belt already! (this type of advancement is rare) Cassidy practices daily, yet is not set to an exact allotted time. If she has two hours to practice, she will take it. If she only has ten minutes, she will take it. Cassidy's schedule is very busy with activities like basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, guitar as well as very demanding academics. Cassidy is somehow able to find balance and growth in all of theses areas, especially drums! As far as what she likes to listen to, Cassidy is very open to all styles of music, but her favorite type of music would have to be rock and country. Cassidy also loves the band Guns and Roses and performed "Sweet Child Of Mine" in the 2017 drum recital. You can see Cassidy at the recital in the short video clip on this website. In August 2017, Cassidy upgraded to a dream drum set that she named "Bernie". Bernie is a 7 piece maple kit that sounds HUGE! It is complimented with all Zildjian cymbals, DW  5000 double pedal, Roc-N-Soc and cowbells galore as well as an extra snare. Mike Dale had an absolute blast helping Cassidy assemble the labyrinth of drums. Cassidy is going to be playing in all the bands at her school as well as jamming with her friends. Cassidy is also going to be putting a serious band together soon, and her music is going to reach all of those who are listening.

Good luck Cassidy!
